The Field House Museum welcomes Ed Wheatley to talk about one of St. Louis’ favorite pastimes – baseball! Author and president of the St. Louis Browns Historical Society & Fan Club, Wheatley, will discuss his book, Baseball in St. Louis: From Little Leagues to Major Leagues, and baseball’s unique role in St. Louis. After the presentation, continue your day by purchasing a copy of Wheatley’s book at the museum and taking the opportunity to venture to the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame & Museum, located two blocks north of the Field House Museum.
Eugene Field was a great lover of baseball and dedicated many of his “Sharps and Flats” columns to the subject. This program is free with limited availability in person and on Zoom. Reservations must be made in advance through Eventbrite, by calling the Museum at 314-421-4689, or by emailing info@fieldhousemuseum.org.
