St. Louis, MO 63102
USA
The Field House Museum is bringing back its Maker Series with a special Mother’s Day craft on Sunday, May 8, at 10:00 am. Moms and kids of all ages are welcome to join us in the Museum’s backyard to decorate your own keepsake teacup and saucer. While crafting, attendees can sip on tea generously donated by The London Tea Room and snack on small treats. To gather inspiration we encourage everyone to check out Bon Appétit, our current exhibit about fine dining during the Victorian era.
This program is $25 for two adults, $20 for one adult and one child, and $5 for each additional attendee (limit 2 per transaction). Reservations must be made in advance through Eventbrite, by calling the Museum at 314-421-4689, or emailing info@fieldhousemuseum.org. Spaces are limited.
About the Exhibit
The Field House Museum cordially invites you to join us for Bon Appétit. By the late 1800s, the dining room was a common feature in many homes, leading to a rise in dinner parties. From the very first step of sending out invitations, a Victorian dinner party was a carefully orchestrated performance. Hosts and attendees were expected to follow specific rules of etiquette, and if not done properly, one was at risk for social ruin. Learn all about the etiquette of a bygone era when you could thank your host for the pleasant evening but not the meal itself while admiring dishes and tableware from the Museum’s collection. The exhibit is now open and runs until July 17, 2022.
