Speaker Series: St. Louis Paranormal Research Society
About the Organization
The St. Louis Paranormal Research Society (STLPRS) is self-funded, with the mandate to not only serve the paranormal community, but also the communities in which they live. Through their various endeavors, they not only raise money to support the group, but they also help raise money to support private businesses, historical societies, and non-profit charities. In addition, they have been called upon by numerous businesses (large and small) and homeowners in Missouri and Illinois to check out “things that go bump in the night.” Their members are all volunteers with years of paranormal investigation experience. They come from various professional backgrounds including teaching, law enforcement, and business.
Making the Connection
Although the Field House Museum does not harbor anything paranormal of our own, Eugene Field had a love for the spooky that transferred into his works. Inspired by the legends of Europe, he wrote short tales such as “The Werewolf” and “Lena and the Old Witch,” both of which will be on display next year in the Eugene Field Library.
