A Year of Partnerships
The Field House Museum is making 2020 the year of partnerships. With so many fantastic organizations in St. Louis, the Museum is always looking for ways to share and endorse the work of our neighbors. In partnership with two local organizations doing monumental work in our community, we hope to do just that.
In February, the Museum will open “Tails of Friendship” in partnership with the Humane Society of Missouri. In celebration of their 150th anniversary, HSMO and the Field House Museum will present an exhibit sharing the history and evolution of pet ownership, the tireless work of the HSMO since their induction in 1870, and Eugene Field’s love of animals.
April of this year will bring “The Power of Words.” Working closely with St. Louis Black Authors of Children’s Literature, the Museum will present an exhibit outlining the ongoing story of literacy among black children, the struggle toward representation, and the importance of a love for reading in development, growth, and self-confidence. In emphasizing St. Louis Black Authors of Children’s Literature’s invaluable mission, the Museum will continue to be a space promoting literacy, education, and the progression toward equity.
In dedicated partnership with two local organizations working to eliminate historic problems today for a better tomorrow, the Field House Museum hopes to share these stories with the community. We cannot change our future until we know our past.
