It’s Great Books Week
Grab a book and read, it’s Great Books Week! The first full week of October is your chance to grab a great book and take the time to read it. Don’t have a reading list ready to go? No worries, we have a few suggestions for you.
If you are a light reader, we suggest reading Eugene Field’s Poems of Childhood. This book is an easy reader filled with Eugene’s most famous poetry. Looking for something to involve the little ones? No problem, pick up the book The Tale of Willy Willys, the story of a worn-out car and its restoration by Ben Hilliker. For those of you wanting a more serious read, check out Dred Scott’s Advocate: A Biography of Roswell M. Field which not only tells the story of the Dred Scott case but also the man who helped propel it to the US Supreme Court.
All of these books, and many more, can be found in our gift shop. So stop by the museum gift shop or purchase them in our online store to get your great read in during Great Book Week!
