Staying Connected & Celebrating Community
Greetings Field House Friends! We hope you all are staying safe and healthy during the current pandemic. The Board and staff of the Museum wanted to give you some updates on what we have been working on during the closure and what to expect when it is considered safe to re-open.
The Museum has been producing a variety of digital options for our audiences during the closure. Virtual tours, behind the scene videos, collection highlights, and poetry readings are just some of the ways we are staying connected!
Virtual Tours– Take a private docent guided tour through the Museum for just $20. Gather the whole family together and join us on Google Hangouts for this fun opportunity to explore the historic Eugene Field House. Tickets can be purchased through our online store.
Behind the Scenes & Collection Highlights– Follow the Field House Museum on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for these special staff spotlights. Explore upcoming exhibits, see unique items from the collections, and get insight from our staff members on how it all comes together at the Museum.
Poetry Readings– The Museum celebrated National Poetry Month in April with a weekly Wednesday poetry reading from Eugene Field’s collection of children’s poems. These videos ended up being so much fun that the staff decided to continue the series in May focusing on Field’s work outside of children’s poems. These videos can be found on our Facebook and newly created YouTube pages.
While there is no official date, we are currently developing plans to re-open in accordance with the city’s ordinances and guidelines.
You can show your support of our efforts by donating during Give STL Day on Thursday, May 6, 2020 at www.givestlday.org/FieldHouseMuseum or anytime through our website www.fieldhousemuseum.org/donate. Thank you and we hope to see you soon!
