Special Event – In Mourning and Memory: The Poetry of Lincoln’s Passing

Join us on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. for a moving program honoring the death and enduring legacy of Abraham Lincoln. Through poignant poems written in the wake of the president’s assassination, actor Dick Benach, in the uniform of a Union First Sergeant of the Illinois Cavalry, and narrator Stephanie Bliss will bring to life the nation’s grief and reverence. This powerful performance blends history and art to capture the solemn spirit of a country in mourning.

About the Actor:
Dick Benach is a Mason/Shriner, a member of the Screen Actors Guild, a life member of the Lincoln Forum, a life member of the Lincoln Presenters Association, a life member of the NRA, a director of the George B. Vashon Museum of African American History board, and a director of Lutheran Resale Services.
