Know Before You Go
Location
Our address is
634 South Broadway.
St. Louis, MO 63102
The entrance to the museum is on the northeast side of the low building attached to the house.
Parking
We have a large lot that is accessible from South Broadway. The entrance is
on the east side of the street, right after the overpass.
Parking is free for museum guests for the duration of their time at the Museum.
The parking lot will be full on game days, but there are reserved spots for museum guests, marked with orange cones. Tell the lot attendant you are visiting the museum, and they will let you in.
Anyone attending a sporting or entertainment event in the area must pay the parking attendant.
Overnight parking and any use other than attending the Field House Museum is prohibited.
Call-a-Ride, Ride Shares, Taxi
There is space for rideshare drop-off and pickup in the parking lot in front of the entry gate.
Public Transportation
As a warning, very few of the crosswalk signal buttons function.
The Stadium MetroLink stop is a 10-minute walk, .45 miles from the museum. From Stadium, I would suggest coming east down Clark to Broadway and crossing Broadway at Clark because the sidewalk on the west side of Broadway is large and less intuitive. Walk south down Broadway until after the overpass, on the east side of the street, will be the entrance to the Field House Museum parking lot. Enter at the south side of the parking lot entrance and follow the sidewalk to the gate. If you end up at the front of the house, ring the doorbell, and someone will let you in.
If the Stadium is closed, you will need to get off at the 8th and Pine Station, which is a 15-17 minute walk, .7 miles away. Walk down the south side of Pine and cross Broadway at Pine, because the sidewalk on the west side of Broadway is large and less intuitive.
#30 Arsenal Bus has stops a 10-minute walk, .4 miles from the Museum. Northbound get off at Broadway@ Convent NB and Southbound get off at Broadway @ Hickory SB. Coming from Hickory, walk north on the west side of Broadway, as the east side does not have a sidewalk. You will need to cross Broadway to get to the museum; there are signals at Chouteau and at Gratiot. Right before the overpass, enter the parking lot and follow the sidewalk to the entry gate. Coming from Convent, walk north on the east side of 4th Street. The sidewalk is overgrown with holes, and it is sometimes just a dirt path. You will cross 4th and walk west to Broadway; there are signals at Chouteau and Gratiot. Enter the parking lot before the overpass and follow the sidewalk to the entry gate. If you end up at the house entrance, ring the bell, and someone will come let you in.
Tickets
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and can be purchased at the front desk, which is to the left of the entrance.
Restrooms
Restrooms are to the right of the entrance. Men’s is to the left and Women’s is to the right.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome.
Notes and Accessibility Resources
The historic house has stairs. The expansion and first floor are flat and accessible for those who cannot navigate stairs, and an alternate docent-presented tour will be provided for the upstairs floors if needed.
Some of the exhibits are transcribed into Grade 1 Braille, which is located in wall files under the panels. If you have trouble locating them, please ask staff for assistance. Staff are also trained in giving audio-described tours and can do them on demand.
We have a sensory bag available for anyone who may need it. Its contents include: a notepad and pencil, timer, sunglasses, headphones, emotion cards, arm weights, squishy balls, and a fidget spinner. It is on a shelf across from the front desk.
If you have any accessibility needs, please let your tour guide know, and we will do our best to ensure they are met and you are welcome to call ahead at (314) 421-4689 or email info@fieldhousemuseum.org to let us know of accommodations ahead of time.
